• Chengdu - Siguniang Mountains - Mount Balang - Cat's Nose Ridge - Shuangqiao Valley

Early in the morning, you will embark on a magnificent journey to the Siguniang Mountains. You will leave the flat plains of Chengdu and gradually climb to the top of the sea of clouds on the Mount Balang (4,532 meters above sea level). On the way, make a stop at the Cat's Nose Ridge, which is the perfect location for a panoramic view of the Siguniang Mountains from afar. Afterwards, continue on to reach the Siguniang Mountains at an altitude of about 3,200 meters to experience the freshness and tranquility of the plateau.

After lunch, you will head to the Shuangqiao Valley, which is regarded as the most beautiful valley in the Siguniang Mountains National Park. The 34.8-kilometer-long the Shuangqiao Valley is a scenic bus ride deep into the valley, where you will walk through larch forests at an altitude of 3,850 meters, surrounded by snow-covered peaks, as if you were in an exquisite painting.

In the evening, our guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel in Siguniang Mountains Town, after checking in, you can enjoy a good night's sleep in this quiet town.

After breakfast, start your hiking tour to the Changping Valley or Haizi Valley according to your choice. Changping Valley is famous for its mature tourist facilities, sightseeing buses, trestles and hiking trails, and is the ideal place to see the scenery of Siguniang Mountains up close. Haizi Valley, on the other hand, is more primitive and desolate, and is a paradise for photographers.

1) Changping Valley Hiking: Take a scenic bus to Lama Monastery (5km) and start your trek from here. You will witness the quiet beauty of the solemn monastery, waterfalls, deep valleys and dead trees in the lake. You will enjoy the Seabuckthorn Forests, Red Stone Valley, Camel Peaks, Plateau Lakes, leisurely herds of cows and sheep, as well as the majestic Siguniang Mountains and glaciers. The entire hike takes about 8 hours, after which you will return by sightseeing bus.

2) Haizi Valley Hiking: The hike strolls on the plateau meadow, looking up at the magnificent stature of the Siguniang Mountains under the blue sky, sea of clouds and flag clouds. Stop at Chaoshanping to capture the best shots of Siguniang Mountains. You will see the stunning lakes, the wide surface of the lake reflecting the surrounding mountains and colorful. After a short stop at Dahaizi Lake, return to the town of Siguniang Mountains. The whole hike takes about 8-9 hours.

Practical tips: the scenic area provides horses to transfer luggage and horseback riding services; adjust the hiking length according to individual physical condition; pay attention to plateau reaction protection; carry sunscreen, sunglasses and food and drinks.

After breakfast, we leave the Siguniang Mountains and head to Dujiangyan, a World Heritage Site. Here, you will appreciate the wisdom and magnificence of ancient water conservancy projects. Afterwards, drive to Qingcheng Mountain to experience the profoundness of Taoist culture and the quiet elegance of natural scenery. Return to Chengdu in the evening, ending a full day.
