Lijiang River
Lijiang River, located in the northeastern part of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is the upstream section of the Guijiang River, a tributary of the Xijiang River in the Pearl River Basin, and is regarded as one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. It originates from Cat'er Mountain, which is 2141.5 metres above sea level, and flows through Xing'an, Lingchuan, Guilin, Yangshuo and Pingle, with a total length of 164 kilometres (it is also said that the whole section is about 214 kilometres long), and a total watershed area of about 5857.11 square kilometres. The Lijiang River is famous for its clear water quality, unique karst landforms and magnificent landscapes, and is a core component of Guilin's landscapes.
The riverbed along the Li River is mostly water quality pebbles with small amount of sediment, the water quality is crystal clear, and the mountains on both sides of the river are upright with different shapes and forms, which are reflected in the water, forming a moving landscape scroll. When travelling on the Li River by boat, you can enjoy the famous Nine Horses Painted Mountain, the reflection of Huang Bu and other landscapes, and feel the mood of "people swimming in the painting".
In addition, the Lijiang is also an important waterway for the interaction between Lingnan and the Central Plains, which played an important role in the unification of the country and the exchange of economy and culture.
