Leifeng Pagoda
Leifeng Pagoda, standing majestically on Sunset Hill overlooking West Lake, is a symbol of both ancient folklore and architectural splendor. Originally built in the 10th century, the pagoda has undergone several renovations due to historical events such as natural disasters and wars. The current structure, reconstructed in 2002, maintains its traditional octagonal shape and features five stories with panoramic views of West Lake and the surrounding cityscape. Legend has it that the pagoda was built to suppress the spirit of a white snake demoness, immortalized in the famous Chinese folktale "Legend of the White Snake". Visitors can ascend the pagoda to enjoy breathtaking vistas, learn about its historical significance, and appreciate its cultural and architectural heritage.
