Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, China, is a famous natural scenic area and World Natural Heritage Site in China. This scenic area is famous for its exotic rocky landforms, cliffs and quiet valleys.
One of the most famous attractions in the park is the Yellow Dragon Cave, known as the "First Bridge under Heaven". Huanglong Cave is a naturally formed large cave, about 30 metres long and 20 metres high, with stalactites, stalagmites, stone mantles and other geomorphological formations in the cave, which are breathtaking. Outside the cave is the 1,074-metre-high Huanglong Mountain, the top of which is covered with a cluster of bizarre stone pillars, some of which resemble figures and animals and are colourful and picturesque.
Zhangjiajie Park is also known for its treacherous peaks and beautiful canyons. One of the most famous attractions is Tianzi Mountain. Tianzi Mountain is one of the main peaks of Zhangjiajie Park, with an altitude of 1,262.5 metres. Climbing to the top of Tianzi Mountain gives you a spectacular view of the whole Zhangjiajie, especially at sunrise and sunset when the clouds and mist make the scenery even more mysterious and moving. Along the way, there are many treacherous rock walls and clusters of stone pillars in different shapes, which are breathtaking.
Apart from the natural landscape, Zhangjiajie Park is also rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage. The park is inhabited by a large number of rare plants and animals, making it one of the most important areas for natural ecological conservation. Moreover, the park is surrounded by well-preserved ancient villages and traditional folklore, demonstrating the rich history and cultural heritage of the western Hunan region.
